What Is This?
This as it happens isn’t much to see at the moment but it will be something more sometime soon. So what’s the story?
I’ve spent most of my adult life working as an Art Director in the advertising world telling stories for brands such as Nike, Kawasaki and Coca–Cola. In between crafting clever one–liners and burping pixels, I’ve spent the bulk of my free time out in the trees riding my bike. Along the way, I found that I had a number of cycling related stories that I wanted to tell and as it turns out people liked what I had to say.
Over the last few years I’ve written feature stories for Decline, Singletrack and NSMB.com travelling internationally as well as finding stories to tell closer to home.
Life In The Trees is going to be a blog dedicated to stories about riding bikes and the occasional beer — I do like beer.

Who Am I?
I’m Dave Smith, an adventure journalist and designer from Vancouver on the left coast of BC, Canada.
In addition to riding about writing, I am an award winning Art Director in the interactive world. In the past, I have worked on projects for Boost Mobile, Coca-Cola, LG, Nike, Target and TELUS among others.
What it boils down to is graphic design is my profession and writing is my guilty pleasure but honestly, I’d rather be out in the trees.
